"Belle of the Yukon" is a 1944 musical comedy directed by William A. Seiter, starring Randolph Scott and Gypsy Rose Lee. Set during the Klondike Gold Rush, the film tells the story of saloon owner "Honest" John Calhoun (Randolph Scott), who returns to his Yukon hometown after a shady past, looking to go straight.

John's former lover, Belle De Valle (Gypsy Rose Lee), is the star attraction at his saloon. However, their reunion is complicated by misunderstandings and rivalries. Belle believes John has returned to his old conning ways and tries to outsmart him. Adding to the drama is the arrival of a troupe of performers and various gold rush characters who bring both humor and conflict.

As tensions and romantic entanglements unfold, John and Belle navigate their tumultuous relationship while dealing with the colorful and often troublesome inhabitants of the bustling gold rush town. The film blends comedy, music, and romance, set against the lively backdrop of the Yukon during the height of the gold rush era.
