The Emperor's Candlesticks 1937 DVD

Baron Stephan Wolensky (William Powell), a spy working against the Russian royalty, meets Countess Olga Mironova (Luise Rainer), a secret agent employed by the Czar. Wolensky and Mironova, initially unaware of each other's political ties, begin to fall in love. When both intelligence operatives attempt to send coded messages through hollowed-out candlesticks belonging to the nobility, they suddenly find their lives in danger and their passionate romance threatened by their contrasting beliefs.
